I am working with a group of swimmers training for the Wildflower triathlon. As we get ready to jump off the docks, there is a big challenge of not enough water to swim….

drive very slowly to the point where the restaurant is, in the right corner and jump from a tiny beach.

the adventure swimmers walk thru thick muck into the water

….and we experienced the exhilerating bay waters that chilled some faces as the group swam out to the Berkeley Pier that had fisherman and walkers looking out at the water. What a morning, yeah! We were in and on the water, feeling it. It is so great to go with what is given, even though it may not be what is expected or planned. We were prepared, and safe, so let’s go experience. Funny, it is the same in the water, as well as on land.

Calm waters, warmish, no wind, clear sky

Seven swimmers enjoyed a fun sunset swim that put closure to an 80 degree day. We swam two loops of a 750 meter course- triangle shaped. Since there was no wind, there were no windsurfers or sailboats, and we had the west side of the berkeley marina, cove, to ourselves. The water was really shallow so the swimmers often touched gooey mud. Oh yeah! I really felt the comraderie of a group. There is a strength and positivity that was contagious out there, being with others, as each swimmer had their own swim session. see you all in two weeks, Wednesday, April 24, 2013
