and so it goes, the glowing phosphorescence, my arms streaking blue glow through the colder than i expected waters. as the moon set at 1am, my body temp dropped and i was cold. cold where is the fun? how am i going to be able to deal with the shivering cold for 9 hours? tell tom, admit it is uncomfortable. it is what it is. why is this fun? why do people do this? i couldnt get into the only place that i have experienced in marathon swimming. the familiar wasnt there.
it is what it is.
i see stars if i look above the mothership, Outrider.
mom has glow in the dark bracelets
kayak tom has yellow glow sticks on the kayak and multi colored glowing arms.
glow, keep my strength
my friend gabriella, wears a blue glow in the dark bracelet talisman to bed. my friends that is what glows. my relations with humans and nature.
there was a moment of the Outrider cruising on my left, and tom paddling on my right. we are all head to head. this reminds me of swimming from Aquatic Park, SF to Chrissy Field and meeting up with SUP friend, Ross, who is paddling around Manhattan this month! Tom is kayaking. Meetings out on the water. Familiarity, human connections. that is the warmth. that is the glow.
